Purchased in the November 2010 Reverse Auction at the Tarot Garden as a complete impulse buy. It looked kind of interesting. Sort of. The review at Tarot Garden was intriguing. So, yes, total impulse buy!
And not regretted one bit, as are so many impulsive purchases. The card stock is what I call "regular." That means it is just normal - with no heavy lamination. They are nice, and shuffle nice. But like most non-laminated cards with black borders, the borders get scuffed and scruffy looking. The backs of the cards are kind of different, and took some getting used to! The artwork could be called "angsty," but not goth. But, really, I am not sure if "angsty" is right either. Some of the card images are really imaginative and very fitting with the RW system.
Readings are remarkably deep with this deck. At first glance, the art seems immature and well, "angsty!" But that is just the first glance. A closer look will reveal some seriously deep concepts.
