January 15 - 21, 2011 ~ DruidCraft Tarot

DruidCraft Tarot
Philip Carr-Gomm, Stephanie Carr-Gomm, Wil Worthington
St. Martin's Press
2004

I purchased this deck in 2008 from The Tarot Garden.  I have always enjoyed the artwork and the colors used in the deck.  Overall, the images have a warmth to them that some decks lack.  They people are not perfect, they have pot bellies, large feet, imperfect skin, scary eyes, etc., just like real people.

The card stock is sturdy, but the cards are unwieldy due to their size. A trim of the borders made the deck more manageable.  However, I now wish I had another deck so that I can mix it up with the Druid Animal / Plant Oracles.

Without the borders, it is very nice for intuitive picture reading, or for putting together stories from various cards.  As a reading deck it can be a bit narrow in its scope.  Meaning, it works great for personal readings regarding my journey as a member of OBOD.  As a general reading deck, it sort of falls short.  This is likely more a function of my own mind set than anything else.
