Revelations Tarot
Zach Wong
Llewellyn, 2005
This deck was purchased in 2005 from the Tarot Garden. It looked very interesting and I really liked the concept of truly reversible images. And the color scheme (blues, purples, greens) appealed to me!
The deck does not disappoint. It has decent card stock and the images have retained their color over the years. The book is okay and as always provides that little glimpse into the mind of the creator. I do have the Happy Squirrel card, that Mr. Wong was gracious enough to share! I had the spare cards with the deck and have attached a high resolution print of the Happy Squirrel to one of them.
It is a fairly straight forward deck. It adheres to a general RW theme, but has the added bonus of reversible card faces. The skill with which Mr. Wong has accomplished this is considerable. My favorite suit is (of course) Cups. I like the merpeople and the fish that he draws.
As a reading deck it is spectacular. I think that it is over looked, but it really deserves serious consideration. It is a great tool to help those who are learning to read with reversals. I don’t normally read with reversals, but with this deck I do. This one and Fenestra for some reason. I am happy I bought it and I enjoy pulling it out on occasion. I am surprised that people don’t request it for readings more often.
Rating: Keeper.
